Full Charge Bookkeeper

About the Job
The Black News Channel, LLC (BNC)  is looking for a Full Charge Bookkeeper to oversee a company's financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. The successful candidate would perform daily accounting tasks such as monthly financial reporting, general ledger entries, and record payments and adjustments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
  • Record bills and expense reports into Quickbooks Desktop
  • Electronically transfer credit card and bank account transactions into QuickBooks
  • Ensure Class/Dept Codes and appropriate level of detail for Memo are input into QuickBooks
  • Scan bills when necessary
  • Save electronic copies of bill in appropriate older (create folder if new vendor)
  • Attach electronically appropriate paperwork to Quick Books bills
  • Prepare weekly Aging Reports

Accounts Receivable:
  • Prepare Customer Invoices
  • Input Invoices into QuickBooks
  • Input payment into QuickBooks and Imagine OSI systems
  • Prepare weekly Aging Reports

Financial Statements:
  • Conduct Month-end Close
  • Reconcile Balance Sheets Accounts
  • Prepare month-end reconciliations for bank and credit card accounts
  • Run department reports
  • Prepare budget vs actuals variance analysis
  • Track fixed assets and prepare depreciation and amortization schedules
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements & Skills:
  • Comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (G.A.A.P.)
  • 2+ years experience
  • Must have solid working knowledge of QuickBooks
  • Practical knowledge/use of Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient in accrual and cash basis of accounting
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Reliable and takes initiative
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
