About the Job
The Black News Channel is looking for a Planner with planning and newsgathering experience to join our exciting and growing News Desk.

The ideal candidate will work with our correspondents on story development and help with field production as needed as well as work with a strong team of daily and planning editors collaborating on finding original story content. A clear understanding of TV news production including editorial, logistical and operational techniques is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Take the editorial lead in the planning process for original stories and content.
  • Communicates clearly with the director, planning, and desk editors on coverage plans
  • Handles logistics for correspondents, including, but not limited to travel, accreditation and visas.
  • Tracks assignment shooting and delivery schedules for correspondents.
 
Requirements & Skills:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in newsgathering and/or news production
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a digital news management role
  • B.A. degree or equivalent in areas such as Journalism & Communications, or related field
